Alfred Mandanici Community Service Award [is] awarded by the Correction Captains Association [for]
professionalism,
personal
achievement and
commitment to
outstanding
community service.
The following citation with the CCA's Alfred Mandanici Community Service Award awarded Captain Richard Rodriguez is taken from the Medal Day 2011 booklet.
CAPTAIN DONALD MCCARTHY, G.M.D.C.
Capt. Donald McCarthy, a 22-year DOC veteran, has served
the Department in several commands with a record of strong
leadership, professionalism and discipline.
Since 2005, he has
been assigned to G.M.D.C. where he supervises the general office.
Capt. McCarthy oversees transfers of inmates, inmate property,
and he is responsible for communicating with the Courts, Law
clerks, district attorneys offices and other law enforcement
agencies.
Since 1992, he has been a member of the Emergency
Service Unit and he is G.M.D.C.'s first response team Supervisor in
emergencies.
He was promoted to Captain in 2007.
