Images below were derived from photos in retired Assistant Chief Richard Pagan's collection of NYC Correction-related photographs.

In the summer of 2012 Pagan made available to this website's Facebook New York Correction History group page some pictures from his NYC DOC photos collection. In response to a request by the webmaster/admin, Pagan generously made those and others photos from his collection available to the website for it to post in this presentation.

"I took this photo before the Bronx House was torn down. This housing area on the 6th floor of the BxDHM was where the maximum security high profile inmates were held. I recall that sometime in 1981-1982 officers assigned were overtaken by inmates and held hostage. The escape plot was discovered when an officer, outside the housing area, noticed an inmate dressed in an officer's uniform. If I recall correctly, an inmate overtook one of the officers by blowing black pepper into the officer's eyes during the feeding and taking his keys. One of the officers held hostage was a classmate of mine, L. Lopez who now resides in Florida."
