NYCHS presents John Law -- The Name, The Legend, The Man.

In the full football team photo above and in the image further below of the left half of group , Coach John Law can be seen standing to the far left in the second row.

Nothing is printed or written on the photograph or its back.

The team photo appears to have been taken at Wallkill. That conclusion is based on the seemingly younger ages among the inmates shown, their uniforms and the architectural features visible in the uncropped photo.

For example, note the cathedral-like windows in a section (see image right) cropped from the right side of the original photo.

Precisely the same style windows, seen from the interior, appear in a photo of Law teaching a class in the state system's centralized Prison Guard School at Wallkill.

The photo is part of the John Brenden Law memorabilia entrusted to the NY Correction History Society by his daughter, Dr. Suzanne Law Hawes. All rights retained and reserved. Requests to use for educational and historical non-commercial purposes should be e-mailed to webmaster@correctionhistory.org
