|NOTE: C.O. Barry Raboy on May 24th, 2012, posted on the Facebook New York Correction History group page a Nov. 24th, 1975 photo (see top of this page) he had come across on the Internet. He invited any of the 594 other members of the NY Correction History FB group to help him identify the Rikers Island facility area in which the photo was taken during the period when inmate rioters held hostage five Correction Officers, all eventually released. His invitation generated some interesting responses which this site's webmaster (who happens to double as the FB group admin) has posted below right. The webmaster also did some follow-up research and found two other Rikers riot AP Wirephotos (above left and right with their original captions) of that date as well as the AP story (below left) they helped illustrate.|
Came across this picture.
Does anyone have any info about it.
It says it was from a 1975 riot on Rikers.

I should of said the incident started in 7 block, this was the bing or special housing as Tom stated.
