Two views of courtroom not in session. Curtains help protect WPA-era murals from the fading effects of sunlight and also serve to hide them from public view. Some in the community object to showing slave labor; others to showing the naked female breast.

However, to their and their staffs' credit, they demonstrate commendable civic interest in providing what information and assistance they can to researchers studying the history of the ex-jail and former living quarters.
