NYC Department of Records and Information Services Commissioner Brian Andersson is one of the two "talking heads" appearing in the Rikers segment of Jails of New York in the NYCTV Original Productions "Secrets of NY" series. Many of the fascinating old B&W photos and illustrations shown in that and the show's other segments come from the Municipal Archives, part of the Dept. of Records & Information Services. Commissioner Andersson recalled, "As a kid in the Bronx, one grew up with the notion that Rikers is where one winds up if ever arrested. Just the name strikes fear in the heart: 'Rikers.'"
