McMICKENS TO MANDY ON HIS RETIRING AS CCA PRESIDENTMay 14, 1984Captain Al MandaniciCorrection Captain's Association 299 Broadway, Suite 1807 New York, New York Dear Captain Mandanici:
I have done a lot of approach/avoidance in writing this letter in that it is one of the most difficult pieces of correspondence I have written. Seldom do people with your tireless dedication and boundless committment choose correction as a profession.
Fortunately, for the New York City Department of Correction and the many hard-working men and women of this Agency, you have been a role model and a fatherfigure all in one for many, many years. This Department will sorely miss you, your caring guidance, and your ever present leadership. It should be particularly gratifying to you to know that you have touched so many lives and that the touch has been in such a positive way. You have truly left your mark on this Department through your good works. Please keep in touch with all of us and know that we are always here should you ever need us in any way.
Most sincerely
