Two views of stonewalled cemetery that once held Union dead long since removed to Cypress Hills National Cemetery. During the Civil War, Hart served as a mustering-in and training camp for several NY regiments, including the 31st U.S. Colored Troops. More than 3,400 Confederate POWs were confined there in the war's final weeks. Still, 235 died before it closed months later.
