The Mid-Atlantic
Popular/American Culture Association is an organization of scholars from many
diverse academic disciplines including American Studies, Anthropology,
Communications, Art, English, History, Law, Political Science, and Sociology.
The “Death in American Culture” panel sessions were chaired by Penn State
York Professor Garry Collison, Ph. D., editor of Markers, the annual
scholarly journal of the Association for Gravestone Studies.
